Odeo Studio Alpha (verdict: it rocks)

Odeo is now publically testing its soon-to-be-beta Odeo Studio, and we are instantly in love with it. Using a completely browser based app (Flash), you can setup multiple channels and record your podcast on a whim. Seriously, we can't say enough how cool this thing is. Just a few clicks and you're recording your podcast using pretty much whatever input device you have working on your machine. Better yet, there's no uploading, no setting up of RSS feeds, no annoying steps to getting it live - just click, record, and you're good to go.
How good is it? So good that we here at Droxy are confident enough to use it for our debut podcast (albeit, a short one). Check out the recording here. Seriously folks, this thing rocks. If this is pre-beta, then we can't wait for the official release.
Say Hi to Slashfood
If there's one thing we like better than criticizing Big Radio, it's eating delicious goodness while criticizing Big Radio. Food isn't just a necessity here at Droxy, it's a lifestyle, and when it comes talking about food you can't get any better than our newest sister blog: Slashfood.
Seriously folks, if you eat food (and we hope you do) go check them out. You're guaranteed to be satisfied.

Don't miss our Live8 coverage

Keep in mind that some of our crack staff is covering today's Live8 event in Philadelphia. The Weblogs, Inc. crew has been resting their fingers in order to quickly bang out the best blogging coverage of this historic extravaganza. I met with the roving reporters last night at the Hard Rock Cafe in Philly. These folks are loaded with laptops, cell phones, EVDO modems and more, so expect awesome coverage.
You can find all of the musical memories and more over at the Live8Insider event blog. Jason & co: don't forget that I offered cash money for a Toby Keith or Keith Urban autograph!

Droxy salutes Engadget's Peter Rojas
It's pretty amazing for someone to maintain a captivating voice over just a few hundred posts, let alone 5,000. But Peter Rojas, the father of Engadget, does exactly that and has not only been a captivating blogger, but has done so in such a consistent and frequent basis that he's reached his 5,000th post at exactly 8:06pm yesterday. Peter has undoubtedly had a massive part in making Engadget the huge success it is today. So as a fellow Weblogs Inc blogger. albeit a n00b in comparison, I have to pay homage to his accomplishments and true dedication to the ART of blogging.
Great job Peter, and we all look forward to the next 5,000!
